As well as local rankings, this league was set up to assist the committee in their selections for team competitions such as IBA and EBA.  The winter league results dictates the team selection for IBA, with the summer league deciding the team selection for The EBA World Masters.

Taking part in the leagues are open to all female players resident in Shetland. You can still take part even if you do not wish to be considered to play at EBA or IBA competitions on the UK Mainland.  The league is an ideal way to enhance your ability to play a competitive level even if you are just learning how to play.

You will be required to play one match per week to keep up to date with the schedule. Please only enter if you intend to complete the fixtures.

The Winter league normally runs from 1st October - 15th March.
The Summer league normally runs from 1st April - 15th September.

General Rules

·         Try to play 4 games per month
·         Each match is played over 8 frames.  You will re required to play all 8 frames.  Matches are awarded 2 points for a win and 1 point for a draw.
·         If after 3 months (End December Winter / End of June Summer) a player has played no games, that player will not take part and will be removed from the table.
·         No more than 2 games to be played in the last 2 weeks.  If a player has more than 2 left they MUST give definite dates of play, or 1 point deducted per game outstanding.  (Unless valid reasons given)
·         If a player pulls out, all there games are void and they will not compete in the next League.  (Unless valid reasons given
·         If, when league is over, the top two are even on points, highest frame difference will win, if still even then most frames won wins.
·         If still totally even then a play off best of 9 with a referee.
·         The top 7 in winter league automatic for IBA team.
·         Top 6 in Summer League automatic for EBA team.
