The Final Competition of the 2009/2010 Season is the Shetland Open Championships.
The Shetland Open is sponsored by the Norscot Angling Club, so all rounds in this competition will be held there.  This means the first rounds will be held over two seperate weekends with the finals the following week.
The first rounds will be held on Sunday 21st & 28th March, with the Finals on Sunday 4th April.

Names are now being taken for the Open, and must be submitted to 07900028080 or by using the contact form on this site, before midnight on Sunday 14th March.

Submitted Names will also be posted on the site, so please check to make sure your name has been sumbitted if you wish to enter.

Entry Fee will be £5.00

Shetland hosts Inter-County 2010.

Friday 26th March saw the Ladies take to the tables, the first session ended in a 6 - 6 draw, Shetland Ladies picked up their games in the middle session and won it 10 - 2. The 3rd Session also ended in a 6 - 6 draw.   The total score was 22 - 14 to Shetland.

Saturday 27th was the turn of the Men, thier first session ended in a 13 - 13 draw. The middle session saw Orkney creep in front by four frames.  After 5 games in the final session the Shetland Men had pulled the match back to a draw and the score was now 31 - 31, but Orkney had kept their best till the end, and only lost 2 out of the last 16 frames, the final score was 33 - 45 in favour of Orkney.

A special mention need to go to Sarah Jackson (Shetland) and Erik Wislon (Orkney) who won all six of their frames.

Shetland Pool Association Committee would like to thank Tracy Bussetil for all her help in preparing the food for the ladies teams, to Robert Setrice who did a fantastic job leveling, ironing, and brushing the tables - you made orkney so jealous  -  to the Scalloway Boating Club for hosting the event and to Sinclairs taxi's for the transport.
